Hey Strava, thank you for creating this community.

There's so many athletes that also perform martial arts it'd be nice to be able to track those activities as part of Strava. From Kung Fu, Jujitsu, Taekwondo, Karate, MMA to Tai Chi and Qi Gong, there's so many sub types that could also be added under the type of sports (like what you did with Run - Race, Long Run, Workout).

It'd be real nice!

Disappointed, and also been waiting for a Martial Art or Combat Sport category for a couple of years now.

When I do kung-fu and get sore the next day from the low-standing stances and the high kicks, I'm definitely working out way more than tennis table players (physically speaking) and I don't understand why Strava is not adding a simple option like this....

If another app comes along and does this with martial arts, I definitely won't stick around on Strava, an app which doesn't listen to the needs of its users.... 😞

Whoop has been great! I’ve been using it for years and have no complaints. Has multiple types of martial arts, has way more activities in general. Gives more metrics, more resources and insights. Tracks sleep. It’s better as an “overall wellness” app.
I still use Strava as well, just b’c I’ve been  invested in it for such a long time - mainly for cycling. But there’s really no need otherwise. Whoop offers all the same things Strava does x10.  I’m not at the point of canceling my Strava account, but I’m pretty **bleep** close.

Had a look at Whoop and it looks like a very expensive option: you need to buy a Whoop watch and pay monthly or yearly quite a lot?

Not quite worth it.

I heard of the "Martial Art Profile" app which looks like a Strava version for martial artists but haven't been able to download it.

If anyone knows of anything else, let me know! Unless Strava finally wakes up and simply adds "martial arts" to the list of activities...

Well, i cannot say i agree with Strava's option to change this idea into " Not Currently Planned " I mean, they have activity types like " Raquetball " " Stair-Stepping " " Kite-Surfing " But they don't have Martial Arts???
