Unsure if this is available in WearOS 3 as I haven't received the update yet. But in the current version, it would be very handy to use an external HR monitor(chest straps/forearm straps)  and link it in the app as getting HR reads from the watch (wrist) is inaccurate in most WearOS watches and the problem worsens as the intervals shorten. The native google fit app of them allows to connect to the external HR monitor, but obviously this app misses all the goodness that comes from Strava, it would be great to have this option on the strava WearOS app

I recently bought a heart rate monitor not just to track my heart rate but also keep track of it easily on my watch whilst running to keep check of heart rate zones for training purposes, but alas external heart rate monitors aren't supported on the wear os app, please fix this as it means I'm going to have to use google fit to see this and essentially double track which is just extra faff. PS also adding heart rate zones to watch app would also be a great addition.

Help us strava! Without BLE heart rate monitor we have no accuracy with Wear Os. Yesterday I was out of breath doing a HIIT while my Galaxy Watch displayed 120 heartbeats. Very dangerous.

Agreed. Please add the external HR support from the Strava Wear os app. That would be so helpful.

As well as screen customization if possible (for example selecting what data screen to show on the watch, to have the ability to for example show speed, avarage speed, distance and time on the same page).

I guess this idea isn't moving up the charts very quickly. So can I ask, is the app on the iPhone nearly as accurate as using the app on my AppleWatch? I can monitor my heart rate on the phone app, but I like to bury my phone in the shorts lining pocket and would have to dig it out to see what's happening.

Hopefully it will gather some more kudos, @CraigDt4

The idea is that you connect any heart rare sensor to the strava wears os app so you get the accuracy that a wrist watch can't give you, specially while doing intervals

The app HR2VP Watch Bike Computer offers external heart rate monitor pairing and Strava uploads. It might be what you are looking for... You can pair power meters and cadence sensors as well, and if you have no power meter, power is estimated based on heart rate.

I bought a wearos watch thinking its a give that every watch can pair with strap sensor only to find that only google allow that. Please add this feature and zone based feedback

Why Wear OS is owners are treated like second class citizens. PLEASE we need this feature.

Agree, I don't understand that complication behind having external HRM sensor to the watch directly. I don't want to have my phone with me just for precise heartrate.

In WearOS3 there was a separate app Sporty Go, that I had to use and linknto Strava. It no longer works for Wear OS4.

Agree, I find this essential.
Pairing the wearOS Stava app with a bluetooth heart rate sensor for accurate data is a must for me while running.
