I looked for this this morning. My main exercise is an hour ruck up a nearby hill. I increase the weight a little every day. There’s no way for Strava to be useful in tracking my progress if it doesn’t allow for this…
I 100% agree! A massive difference exists between walking 5 miles and rucking 45 pounds for 5 miles. We need Strava to implement this asap. Do that, and you'll get a lot of rucking accounts because there is a market waiting to be filled up by someone.
Came here to see if this had been added yet. If so, I was going to subscribe. This app is whelming at best without the rucking option. Guess I’ll check back in a few years.
Marya here from the Community Management team - really appreciate everyone's honest and transparent feedback about this space; we hear and understand that there are opportunities to improve our communication when it comes to the Community Hub.
Our (small, but mighty) team is working diligently to provide an open and safe Hub that enhances your Strava experience, including addressing the visibility issues mentioned here. Please also note that this space is actively monitored with all threads and ideas being read and reviewed and the Hub is regularly referenced internally.
When you share ideas, they are shared back to the product team and our team regularly sends relevant threads to them to flag when potential improvements are discussed, if roadblocks are discovered and if issues are found within the ecosystem (a recent example that inspired product conversations is this thread around map feedback). Additionally to maintain the integrity of the Hub, we complete audits of the idea space to synthesize insights, including but not limited to long-standing or popular ideas, into reports that are shared internally.
The team that oversees this space (aka our awesome Moderators) is in tune with your feedback that’s shared here and in other channels. They actively oversee the Hub, support tickets and Help Center data and use that to holistically share your feedback to our product teams. Our team also actively participates in the product launch cycle and part of our participation includes elevating the relevant threads related to our product areas focus.
The insights and feedback shared here by you and the rest of our athletes in this space is and continues to be highly valuable for our team, and we appreciate and encourage this type of constructive feedback — please continue to share it with us!
Right now, we haven't received any updates from our product team about rucking or weighted walking/hiking. We've taken note and can help relay this over to them in one of our upcoming syncs with the relevant product team. If any additional updates from product are made available, someone from the Hub team will update theidea threadreferenced in the original post as needed.
I just did a 1 mile ruck with a 60 lb vest and farmer carrying 2 20 lb dumbbells, and Strava estimated the effort at 2. I can assure you that is an underestimate. Strava is really letting its data and analysis engine get polluted by not enabling people to enter in the relevant details of their efforts.
Just wanted to add to the voices here. would love to be able to accurately track rucking. I'm a runner and I use rucking as a cross training activity when I walk my dog. I also hike a fair amount with a heavy pack. I've been a paying subscriber for 6 years or so and now at least a third of my workouts are rucking. It would be amazing to easily track the effort. Love the app. Appreciate the constant updates. I'm a UX designer so I know first hand how much work goes into creating and maintaining a great app experience with so many different users and use cases.
At his point I just bought a Whoop that actually has rucking as a workout option on it. It does connect to the Strava app once completed. But this still seems to be the only option available to track rucking at all.
I'm bumping this to remind the Strava developers that we are still here (for the time being) and that it would go a long way to acknowledge the post and share any kind of update with us.
