Thanks for posting about tandem rides. It has been reviewed by our moderation team and is now open to voting. Currently, our leaderboard guidelines do not allow mixed-gender tandem rides on normal ‘ride’ public leaderboards. For now please mark any mixed-gender tandem activities as "Followers Only" or "Only You" (Private) to avoid any further issues.
I would like to see tandem cycling added as a distinct sport from road cycling. Personal bests and the like get skewed when riding tandem in the cycling classification.
Hello. We wanted to let you know that your idea submission from September regarding "tandem riding" has received little support from the Community and will not be added to our Product Roadmap in the foreseeable future. The idea submission will be archived.
As a workaround, we recommend that you use the invite a friend feature on Strava, which allow the person who records the ride to then share that recorded data with someone else. Another option would be for both riders to record the ride and upload to their Strava accounts.
Please note that your feedback is valuable to Strava. As stated in our Community Idea Guidelines, we receive many idea submissions each week, and realistically, there may be various reasons that prevent us from including an idea on our Product Roadmap.

Please can there be a tandem category. As a relatively strong female cyclist I have had a fair number of QOM’s and welcome competition from strong female cyclists. However I don’t think it’s fair that tandem cyclists with double power and often mixed gender riders should be taking these QOM’s. Solo female riders have no chance of competing against this. Please create a tandem category to create a fair and level field for all.
