As a coach it would be very helpful for me to be able to see parts of an athlete's profile that are not visible to other followers. I'm thinking specifically about performance oriented things like the Fitness & Freshness graph, Relative Effort graph, Power Curve, Training Log, etc. Every Strava member should have the ability to designate one or more of thier followers as a Coach, and that person would have the ability to view these elements of their profile to monitor training progress.

Hi Strava,

I think having a Coaching Marketplace within Strava can be a beneficial feature for athletes.

  • Athletes and Coaches don't know how to find each other for different sports. It is usually through word of mouth.
  • The Coaching Marketplace can show local coaches, their ratings, reviews, and also list athletes that are interested in training for specific sports
  • Coaches can manage their athletes training within Strava.
  • Coaches can have a separate view for all athletes under their management.
  • Strava AI Coaching Assistant can help advise both coaches and athletes on their fatigue, training, and recovery.

An example of when I would use this feature is if I am looking for a running nutritionist, running strength coach, sprinting coach, or weight loss coach.

Hi @Soren - how many Kudos will it take to put this idea into development? As a user that always has to send my coach specific training data, this feature is important. I’m sure I’m not the only one and there must be thousands across the world who would use this feature. Training Peaks and other platforms do have the feature, but we obviously love using Strava. Thank you

As a coach I use Strava to track my Athletes activities, it would be extremely helpful if, once designated as their coach, I could see:

- Full activity data, if hidden. E.g first/last km if they hide their home location.

- Training calendar to more easily search back through previous activities.

Thanks Strava team.

Hello,

If this functionality was available then you would kill training peaks. I would prefer to use Strava to connect with my athlete.

Thank you very much for making it happen. As I am sure that it's just a matter of time.

Coach accessibility to athlete info increases Strava’s usefulness and integration with how and why athletes track performance. Great idea.

I am a mentee and would like to grant my coach full access even if my runs are private. Strava team - can we do this please?

Hello and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to add your votes and comments to this request.

We want to let you know that we do not intend to add more activity/sport types to Strava in the foreseeable future, and this feature suggestion will be moved to a status of not currently planned.

We appreciate and understand this is not the answer you were hoping for. We strive to be as transparent as possible and provide updates to our Community when they become available.

Please remember that we receive a large number of idea submissions, and even some  popular ideas may not make it to the implementation stage. The number of votes an idea gets is one factor among several that’s considered when our product team develops the roadmap.

For more information, review our Guide to Ideas.

Additionally, a status of not currently planned does not mean this feature suggestion goes away. It will remain open to votes and comments, and may be revisited at some point in the future.

Lastly, we sincerely hope you will continue recording and uploading your activities to Strava. Here is a list of the Sport types that we currently support. It’s always an option to set your activity to sport type “workout” and indicate more specifics in the activity name.

Thanks again for your contributions.
