While I use Strava for tracking, I track all my rides and runs with my Apple Watch and then sync them up when I'm done with the activity.

When I go for a bike ride, it will always be an e-bike ride because that is what I am on. But when I record it as n "Outdoor Ride" on my watch, it will always import as a "Ride". This makes sense because Strava has no idea it was on my e-mtb.

So, what I would like to be able to do is set a default activity mapping in my profile so when Strava imports a cycling activity, it automatically updates to one of the "E-Bike" activities. This will save having to edit each ride and change the activity type manually.

If you don't mind using a 3rd party service for that, https://strautomator.com can do what you want (set the default activity type). Plus a lot more.

Hello.

We wanted to let you know that your idea submission regarding default activity type settings from July of 2022, will be archived. While this idea is interesting, we don’t have any immediate plans to implement this and currently aren’t able to prioritize this idea.

Please note that your feedback is valuable to Strava. As stated in our Community Idea Guidelines, we receive many idea submissions each week, and realistically, there may be various reasons that prevent us from including an idea on our Product Roadmap.

We want to thank you for taking the time to submit your idea and we look forward to your continued contributions to the Strava Community.

I would also encourage to check out this suggestion which has garnered quite a bit of support from the Community.  We would welcome you comments and vote (kudos).  Thanks again.
