Google utilizes the Health Connect application to store health data on devices, aggregating information from various applications like GoogleFit, Garmin, SamsungHealth, FitBit, and many others which write their data into Health Connect.
A notable exception is Strava, prompting the question: Why doesn't Strava write data into Health Connect? As a user, I would prefer not to sync my devices and apps individually, nor manage data across disparate applications. Instead, a unified framework where all data is consolidated and easy to track would be ideal.
Especially considering that Strava on iOS reads data from Apple Health, it seems logical to wonder why it doesn’t read from Health Connect on Android. This functionality could potentially elevate it to a major app among Android users, particularly since Android 14 comes with Health Connect as a default app. Just something to consider for your information (FYI).

@SteezyStud Appreciate your enthusiasm for this feature! In addition to commenting, I'd also recommending giving a "kudo" or thumbs-up vote to the Idea as well - this helps our team know which ideas are popular or interesting within the Hub. Thanks!

Agree and support!  I think many of us use Strava for the far superior activity tracking and community benefits, but would love to see those activities included in our "all day" app, alongside our sleep patterns, daily steps etc.

It's actually wild that this even needs to be voted on. The community having to vote for things that should be close to top priority for the App Development Team is actually hilarious.

Integration into Health Connect should have begun as soon as Health Connect hit Beta. It's literally Android's connection between all "Health" apps. 70% of mobile phone users globally use Android. And we have to vote on this!! 🤣🤣 What a debacle...

Google Fit sync in Strava has never worked great, and now the Google Fit API has been depriated, it would make sense for Strava to add support for Health Connect asap.

@Marya - Is there an update on this as yet? This lack of integration with Health Connect on Android is becoming fairly burdensome.

Can we get some sort of indication that the Strava dev team is aware of, and working on, the integration?

Is there a high-level timeline?

The community as a whole would appreciate some sort of update. Thanks, Sam

@Marya

This is a very standard "copy/paste style" corporate answer.
As a user it's very strange to need to ask the app  which is (or wants to be) our de facto central hub for sports and sports devices if and when it will be possible to interact with an API that is the de facto standard way to interact on Android...
