Please can you provide options/links to Shortcuts to start, pause, resume and finish activities, with the options to pick which type.

This will be very useful to include Strava in longer shortcuts, or even deeper integration with the Apple Watch and complications, and also the Apple Watch Ultra Action Button (which can be used to launch a shortcut).

+1 request for this. I just want the Action Button to open Strava.

shortcut worked well as starting point thanks, I removed step 2 (use cycling) and only kept step 1 (open strava) as I have about 6 different workouts I might choose each time 😎🤙

Pass along to whom ever it concerns but myself and the 4 regulars I ride with have all canceled our Strava subscriptions from renewing within the next 1-2 months due to the crazy price increase and that there still is no functionality with Strava for the Apple Watch action button. When you pay for a premium service, you expect premium support and features.

I’m using Apple’s Workout app on the watch now. The new version of the outdoor cycling workout on watchOS 10 (currently beta) is really good, fully customisable in what it displays. There are many more data options (integrates with Bluetooth Cadence meter for example or other devices), including showing and notifying you of which heart rate zone you’re in, or want to be in.

It also can be fully integrated with the Action button and Shortcuts, so very simple to use and control. It syncs everything smoothly with Strava, so no loss there.

As a result I’ve completely given up on the Strava Apple Watch App and fully switched to the native Workout app.

If Strava ever catches up with this - let me know!

So sad that this thread is marked as “Solved”.

It feels like you could develop something because now I see a third party app available in the options: Podometer++

Hi Jane,

Is there any update on this?  It is absolutely crazy that Strava has not made this a priority with the new Apple Ultra 2 just out?  How can we make this happen?  Thanks!

It is open now

Apple has opened up the feature for third parties. Where is Strava.

@Jane When will it be implemented?

We can now create a shortcut (to open strava and also set focus mode) and link the action button to this.

Can the moderators unmark the current solution and find one of the below replies that suggests a shortcut as the solution? Thanks team!

ismoothrun already works w action button.

this should not be a big deal for strava either…

based on the doc it should not take more than 2 days for an ios dev

the shortcuts integration is very poor experience. the whole point of having a dedicated physical action button is not to use the touch buttons while starting stopping etc. shortcuts does not allow any of that. please get it done

I highly recommend to everyone to simply use the Apple Workout App on the watch instead of the Strava app. This works with Action Button, Shortcuts, and has much more customisable and more detailed watch screens. You can sync your full workouts with Strava so you don’t loose anything.

i use this exclusively now and haven’t looked back.

yeah, that is the only reasonable option if strava is unwilling to take the effort of integration. not sure if i really need strava in case i track in the health app
