I also would like to see more re strength training. Specifically I’d like to see something like a strength score. This could be calculated like the existing fitness score, but instead of effort relative to max hr, it would be calculated as effort relative to estimated/actual single rep max efforts of benchmark lifts. Simply select the lifts, weight, volume, completed within a workout period, then receive your relative strength effort and subsequent strength score over time. This score could work in conjunction with the HR based fitness score, for example activities like hiit or circuits could move the needle for both fitness and strength scores. This would be very helpful for someone like me who is attempting to balance strength and cardio.
I think adding further details like exercises, reps and sets into weightlifting will be a great addition to Strava.
This isimportant because:
Strava is my workout journal
I train both endurance and strength as a runner
I want to track and share how many sets and reps of different exercises like push-ups, squats, and deadlifts
This feature will resemble Garmin's feature for tracking weightlifting, which gives the user the ability to automatically track and edit exercises/reps/sets
A big benefit of this feature is that it will also expand the user base to include athletes that are primarily focused on calisthenics, strength training, and weightlifting.
Anexampleof when I needed this feature was today. I completed my strength training workout on my Garmin Watch, which automatically tracks and saves my exercise, reps, and sets, but I had to manually type in my workout on Strava after syncing the activity.
Can Strava read and write the additional strength training workout data from Garmin?
Thank you Strava! Shant

Strava is missing Weight lifting and calisthenics, I've been waiting long years for this feature update, not just as cardio workouts but adding statics and fields to specify repetitions, exercises, weight lifted, goal oriented like Jefit app and similar apps do currently, or allowing to import these apps data to Strava, not simply HR and calories, it would bring a massive user base, the fitness/gym's community is huge, maybe bigger than running and cycling community
@Jane I think the main post on this thread could be updated/refreshed, I’m amazed that this idea only has 2 likes at the moment… My guess is that this is due to new comments being rolled into an old post with limited traction, it’s essentially being hid at the bottom of the pile as the initial post is not “new” “hot” or “popular”.
Came here to request something similar. I have to use other apps to track weightlifting – which includes my leg rehab exercises – but ideally, I would have this info on Strava's platform so I can see how that regimen lines up with my running schedule.
Currently, the only solution I can think of is recording these exercises in my Strava comments / notes. But I would much rather be able to upload a separate "weightlifting" activity with a simple grid, where I state the exercise type, the number of reps, and the weight moved (if applicable).
It would be great if we can add Leaderboards for Strength Training.
I want to see the strongest athletes split by residence (city, state, country) and by timing (today, this month, this year, and of all time) based on:
Weight: Who lifted the most weight (powerlifting bench, squat, deadlift, rows, kettlebells, etc.). The leaders are top 10 by city, state, and country.
Reps: Who did the highest number of reps (of bodyweight push-ups, squats, pull-ups, burpees)? The leaders are legendary.
Videos: Anyone who wants their lift to be added to the leaderboard must submit a video for verification. Unverified lifts are not added to the community leaderboard and cannot receive Top 10 or Legendary.
The issue for competitive weightlifting is verification. We can never know for sure if the weights are real unless the athlete competed at an official event. This can be required in the future for verification.
Additionally, since Strava videos are currently limited to 30 seconds, maybe we can require athletes to submit a link to their youtube page for highest number of bodyweight reps.
Either way, I think it would be great to see leaderboards for strength training. Thank you!

I am worried that the community members (and Strava devs) won't dig all the way into comments to see what other ideas expanded weightlifting.
The community hub interface makes follow-on comments in support rather than a comment that expands upon the original idea that can also get votes. Leaderboards make activities more social, competitive and more likely to get community votes.
Additionally, if the community doesn't scroll down to see the leaderboard for weightlifting, then we are at risk of new ideas like these being ignored and people not being interested in weightlifting because there is no social competition aspect.
Ultimately, the Weightlifting Leaderboard is a separate idea from implementing reps, sets, and/or Garmin Integration to pull this data. It can't be done until the integration is in place first. But if there is interest in the leaderboard then it can make integration more likely to be done.

I 100% agree with @Superbeek that the original post may not be getting as much traction as it should have. It is not new, popular, or hot.
I agree that the original post can benefit from being refreshed with more content.
An additional suggestion to fix this issue: whenever an idea is merged with another, then it should be considered a new idea again so community members can see it and upvote.
Thank you for considering! Strength training is a significant aspect of living a healthy lifestyle and retaining bone mass as we age. Having this data in Strava will significantly benefit all endurance athletes.

Stronglifts app is well designed and easy to use for weight training. Tracking weight training with a Garmin watch is cumbersome as is using the Strava app. Please find a way to partner with Stronglifts so workouts tracked on their platform can be imported to Strava, as workouts from other platforms are.
I got a message front Jefit (which is the app which I use to record my excersizes) that it should be possible to sync the data to Strava. But my sync request gets denied. But I would be most grateful if that could be fixed. It would be the cherry on top of the cake.
