I also would like to see more re strength training. Specifically I’d like to see something like a strength score. This could be calculated like the existing fitness score, but instead of effort relative to max hr, it would be calculated as effort relative to estimated/actual single rep max efforts of benchmark lifts. Simply select the lifts, weight, volume, completed within a workout period, then receive your relative strength effort and subsequent strength score over time. This score could work in conjunction with the HR based fitness score, for example activities like hiit or circuits could move the needle for both fitness and strength scores. This would be very helpful for someone like me who is attempting to balance strength and cardio.

I think adding further details like exercises, reps and sets into weightlifting will be a great addition to Strava.

This is important because:

  • Strava is my workout journal
  • I train both endurance and strength as a runner
  • I want to track and share how many sets and reps of different exercises like push-ups, squats, and deadlifts
  • This feature will resemble Garmin's feature for tracking weightlifting, which gives the user the ability to automatically track and edit exercises/reps/sets
  • A big benefit of this feature is that it will also expand the user base to include athletes that are primarily focused on calisthenics, strength training, and weightlifting.

An example of when I needed this feature was today. I completed my strength training workout on my Garmin Watch, which automatically tracks and saves my exercise, reps, and sets, but I had to manually type in my workout on Strava after syncing the activity.

Can Strava read and write the additional strength training workout data from Garmin?

Thank you Strava!

100% agree! Just seeing this after submitting same idea.

Can Strava please read and write the Garmin data for weightlifting? Garmin gives a detailed breakdown of the exercise, reps, and sets.

Strava is missing Weight lifting and calisthenics, I've been waiting long years for this feature update, not just as cardio workouts but adding statics and fields to specify repetitions, exercises, weight lifted, goal oriented like Jefit app and similar apps do currently, or allowing to import these apps data to Strava, not simply HR and calories, it would bring a massive user base, the fitness/gym's community is huge, maybe bigger than running and cycling community

@Jane  I think the main post on this thread could be updated/refreshed, I’m amazed that this idea only has 2 likes at the moment… My guess is that this is due to new comments being rolled into an old post with limited traction, it’s essentially being hid at the bottom of the pile as the initial post is not “new” “hot” or “popular”.

Can we please have strength training data ported over from Garmin, Apple Health, Strong app, and StrongLifts?

I would like to see weight and volume improvement over time.
