A Leaderboard where, instead of your single best ever time, it is the average of your best 3 times. The more I think about it, the more it sounds fun.

1. Local riders get more incentive, more reward and a better experience for riding their local segments.

2. Once you've got the KOM for a segment, it can be hard to motivate going back. Strava could be more enjoyable if it gave me a bit more carrot to get the bike out and, with this, I have to do the segment 3 times. That sounds like a great challenge to motivative me.

3. It stops the Tour of Britain, or other suitably quick TT riders and/or other race, from speeding through one time and taking your precious KOM.

4. It means it will be much more competitive to take a KOM. Say, on a good day, I can beat the current KOM by a few seconds; I will have to do that 2 more times with this Leaderboard to take the KOM. That makes things really interesting.

I like the idea, but only as an additional leaderboard while maintaining the original KOM leaderboard based off the single-fastest time.  It would be fun to see who can repeat their performance on a segment.

Hello. We wanted to let you know that your idea submission from October of 2022 will be archived. While this idea is interesting, we don’t have any immediate plans to implement this and currently aren’t able to prioritize this idea.

Please note that your feedback is valuable to Strava. As stated in our Community Idea Guidelines, we receive many idea submissions each week, and realistically, there may be various reasons that prevent us from including an idea on our Product Roadmap.

We want to thank you for taking the time to submit your idea and we look forward to your continued contributions to the Strava Community.

Seriously I can't believe every one isn't crying out for this feature. The person who averages the best say 5, 8 or 10 times for a particular segment. This would eliminate so many frustrating aspects of leaderboards. For example off road in dense tree cover there are some particularly bad GPS tracks which lead to erroneous times making the leaderboards. Equally those using some inferior phones that prize battery life over accuracy will also get erratic times. People who set there Garmin's to battery saving modes which ping less will get different times. On the road those who ride with a hurricane storm tailwind may 'fluke' a segment that someone else can consistently ride well, or perhaps a pro chain gang comes through your patch swallowing every KOM and place in the top 10. By awarding the "Consistency Queen/King" you'd see who the real "Local Legend" is, we'd be able to see who can really ride that time and back it up consistently. It's no brainer for me, Strava is crying out for this.
