It would be great to have a general map view. Similar to the Route Creator, but without needing to enter anything. Options to overlay my heatmap, global heatmap, and segments. Underlay can be standard, imagery, or even trails overlaid.

I use strava often in new cities to find places to ride but it's actually not intuitive to access this information at all, and the underlying heatmaps are very useful to have a look at.

Hello, and thanks for this suggestion. Correct me if this isn't what you're looking for, but I find that navigating to the maps tab on the mobile app and selecting the Segments tab effectively displays the things you asked for: the ability to select the map type and toggle different layers on/off while also being able to filter specific kinds of segments.

Yes, exactly. But there is no such view available on web, unless I am missing something?

Hello @nicovlogg

Thanks for posting!  This functionality exists already on the Web Routes page.  When you go to this page keep in mind that it's not necessary to build a route to view or use the map.  Using the Map Preferences filter, you can choose to overlay global heatmaps, personal heatmaps, segments on trail networks, as well as points of interest and community photos.

This is the filter I'm talking about:

I hope that information is helpful and thanks again for posting in the Community Hub.

Thanks @Jane , I guess that answers my question. I really just want a view where my basic cursor isn't 'add point' but I can work with it .
