Almost 11,000 have been killed in Gaza and the West Bank, many still missing under the rubble, and so many are at risk of dying out of hunger, dehydration, or wound contamination... We can't remain silent about it, nothing justify this genocide. It must stop now.  Therefore, please allow us to show solidarity with the Palestinian innocent civilians  by adding (Support Palestine) in the Featured Map Types, as we can support Ukraine, we need to be able to show support to Palestine 🇵🇸 Thank you!1.jpeg2.jpeg

Strava, we have been asking for so long for the #SupportPalestineMap. How many times do we have to ask so you can listen to your users? Do you want statistics of the ongoing genocide in Gaza? Do you want comparisons with killings in Palestine and killings in Ukraine? Why did people get a support Ukraine map right away? For us it's been silence for not days or weeks but months. Common.

The ICJ recently ruled in favor of SA on plausible genocide that is being committed in Gaza, yet still no action from Strava? Not even a statement for Palestine?

Are Russians unblocked, or are they still using VPNs to access Strava?

Hi, this idea has so much support, why is this idea still not implemented?

Yes Sarah. I think that collectively punishing all Russians by blocking of Russia was wrong, but this is the lengths that a lot of big sport tech companies (incl Apple, Google) took to support Ukraine, but when it comes to supporting Palestine, not even a statement of support for Palestine after the ICJ ruled that genocide is plausible, even this idea is - status:archived.

I am somewhat okay if companies like Zwift choose to remain silent on Palestine/Israel, as they rejected calls to ban Russian users. But companies going to extreme lengths to support Ukraine and then totally ignoring the massacre of Palestinians leaves a sour taste.

Hello Everyone, PLEASE READ!!!!! HELLO Everyone who has reacted to this request for a Palestinian lives matter map option or support Palestine option. I realize now we can have our community discussion here on our request on Strava's community hub. I look forward to having a conversation about this with you all. I appreciate the updates on the situation, amount of destruction, material and human. And what is going on politically. I particularly appreciated @Wing 's comment and info about Strava and it's investors from jan 1 2024.  I am going to repost it in Strava. I hope you don't mind. It's hard to have a conversation on Strava since it's always new posts. Let's use this until we have our website up and running!

I also invite you to check out and support the Gaza Sunbirds and any other Palestinian sports clubs and groups!

It's a shame that a moderator archiving this request will simply disable the ability to like and push it along.

Hundreds of replies should be enough to fulfil this request, perhaps it takes paying subscribers to unsubscribe to get it done.

Double standard is not acceptable.

There are hundreds of organized bike rides across cities in support of Palestinian lives, call for a ceasefire and for humanitarian aid. Imagine if they all could actually join in virtually from all over the world.

Strava, please add this option.

Great comment @literalkat that's true, thousands around the world are dedicating their sports activities to a free palestine. A ceasefire and the end of the genocide recognized by the International Court of Justice. Strava is obviously in line with all the supporters of genocide. In line with now organizing together the starvation of 250000 children, 2 million people. And the continued massacre of them

They will eventually face the legal and life consequences just like our governments and big companies.

So, almost 30000 of Palestinians are killed, and Strava users been begging to add Palestinian flag colors in solidarity with Palestine, and Strava being complicit in the genocide, right? If your solidarity includes only for white nation as Ukraine, so does it mean Palestinian Lives don't matter for you?

I always switch by Map type to “Support Ukraine”, in part because of the hostile war they are experiencing but also because it’s the same colour as my running club. I would also love to be able to show my support to the terrible suffering of Gaza and Palestinians but have a “Support Gaza/Palestine” option in the maps. This is no more political than the Ukraine option and global consensus seems to be that support for Gaza through this small gesture would be amazing!

I am 100% behind this. It’s no different to ‘Support Ukraine’ and I would I’ve to see this. It’s a small thing that we could do to show support!

It is beyond demoralizing that we have to beg Strava for this simple feature in support of Palestinian lives. Strava, reconsider your policy to no longer add polylines. Add this one to show that the people working for your administration have a heart.
