Unicycling is vastly different from regular cycling as the speed in general is much lower on a unicycle. Thus the resulting data gathered from an activity on a unicycle is not comparable to a normal ride.
It's long overdue to add unicycling as its own sport on Strava!!! As mentioned here, unicycling is vastly different from rolling in a bicycle (in term of speed, effort, distance, ...). It's hard to believe Strava has quite random sports (like CrossFit, sailing, velomobile,...) but no unicycle. Strava Developers: go check how many people have a "just unicycle" added to their usernames to fix your excluding design. And I bet you will never find a "Joe doe CrossFit only".
Challenges for bikes are very difficult to complete with unicycles, like climbing 7500 m and distances : 100 km at once, 400 and more km monthly. This is the reason I don't use the subscriber's version.
Unicycling… one gear, no freewheeling (usual case) it’s completely different to (bi)cycling… oh… and a reverse gear…
would be nice to not have to put the word unicycle in the description of my rides to separate from the odd couple of times I used to ride a two wheeler.
also, it’s been informative to have the two wheeler hold all the 1st’s for segments, but it’s not the same thing
Hello Strava team! I am ready to pay for full version as soon as the unicycling is added among the types of activities. Thanks for your support of unicyclers😀👍
Agree with the other folks! It's really amazing that we have not been able to get unicycling into Strava and it would make this platform the go to tracker for me and my friends.
Definitely necessary since road and mountain unicycling have different time and motion characteristics than road and mountain bicycling. Would be great!
