Unicycling is vastly different from regular cycling as the speed in general is much lower on a unicycle. Thus the resulting data gathered from an activity on a unicycle is not comparable to a normal ride.
This is a bit of an aside, but years ago, I was in a mountain bike race in Pennsylvania, and there was a unicycle category for the race (and there were more than a handful of unicycles in the race!). Think about that - a unicycle mountain bike race!!! I have much respect for that, and agree it should be a category (as somebody who has logged a grand total of less than 1 mile - successfully - on a unicycle).
I have previously requested this and really hope it is accepted. It would be welcome for the sport, and indirectly I'd expect it would generate some interest in the sport: "what's this category- unicycle? I'll have to check that out!"
Maybe ask the probucers of electrical unicycles EUC, and they could contact developers of Strava for add EUC like sport - and than they could add classical unicycle, too ...
Totally second this motion. Without this option I just won’t use Strava for my rides. Having this option would really make this feel like a platform for all the cycles out there!
Really hope the powers that be understand the need for this 🙏🤞
Yes Please! This would be awesome. I have over 3000 miles of unicycle rides on Strava. Thank you for posting this request, and thank you Strava for considering it.
It would be nice to have Unicycling as a sport in Strava. It is much different from cycling. Even within unicycling there is mountain unicycling and long distance unicycling but the path one rides one often dictates the type of Unicycle you are using.
One big benefit to having Unicycling as a sport - other than the obvious one - is leaderboards will then keep the Unicycle rides separate from two wheel rides.
I would love to have a unicycling activity on Strava. It is fundamentally different than biking. If there was a unicycling activity, it would be important to let people add tire size as riding a 20" unicycle is very different from riding a 36" when tracking speed and other factors.
Unicycling is so different to even MTB riding it should absolutely have its own option. I have logged so many miles of unicycling under MTB which means then when I actually log rides on my MTB, the stats are wrong
