I ride outdoors every day regardless of the weather, and I haven't missed a day on the bike in over 7 years. During this period I've averaged over 9700 real outdoor miles per year. It's pretty disheartening to look at the monthly cycling challenge leaderboards and see all of the top spots occupied by people who only ride indoors. Zwifting in air conditioned comfort is not the same thing as riding a real bike outdoors in real weather conditions. Completing the monthly distance and elevations challenges outdoors during the winter months requires an entirely different level of commitment and suffering. The leaderboards should reflect this difference.
