I think it would be great if Strava adds the Virtual World Tour on Strava.

What is it?

The Virtual World Tour basically allows an athlete that is running on a treadmill or cycling on their stationary bike to run or cycle around the world by connecting to Google Street View or MapBox Street View.

Why is it important?

I want to be able to run in a city even if I am not able to travel to that city.  I can run this street virtually if I am running on a treadmill by controlling my avatar on a virtual map like Google Street view. The benefit of having this is that it allows people to explore the real world without paying for transportation to that city. It's not the same as traveling in the real world, but it still allows people to discover new cities that have been recorded by Google Street View.

How does it work?

Basically, I can teleport to a street view location and start my run. Then I can control the map and make turns on streets from my phone or connected TV. The map automatically keeps moving forward as I continue running on the treadmill by staying connected the app.  If I want to teleport to a new location in the world, then I need to end my activity and start a new one.

The real world segments that exist can also turn into virtual segments for athletes that are traveling those streets virtually.

Thank you!
