Custom challenges are quite cumbersome currently. It is a PAID MEMBERSHIP only feature, yet it’s very challenging and frustrating to use since you can only find them by digging down several levels manually (too many clicks required!) from the HOME → GROUPS → ACTIVE tab and there is no way to share or post about the leaderboards within CLUBS or websites.
If there was a way to actually VIEW and SHARE the ACTIVE custom challenges, then as a CLUB leader / influencer, I could better promote and refer many, many more athletes to STRAVA PREMIUM PAID MEMBERSHIPS so this would seem like a big no-brainer for STRAVA to invest some energy into developing further!
- SHARE LINK - Make the leaderboards share-able via a link to encourage non-premium members to become premium members! Let us post about challenges within club POSTS sections and ideally other social media platforms more easily too!
- EMBED - make the leaderboards able to be embedded in websites like club boards, etc.
- WEBSITE - at the very least, make the leaderboards viewable and editable on the STRAVA.com website, not just the phone app. Most people forget about the custom challenges because there is no way to actually see them on the website!
Separately, it would be nice if it was easier and more intuitive to add friends to custom challenges. Currently you have to click on GROUPS->ACTIVE->CHALLENGE->SETTINGS->SEE PARTICIPANTS→ and then click on an icon to add someone. That is too many (6+) clicks and the icon is not very intuitive, so it would be nice if you could INVITE A FRIEND” from the CHALLENGE itself to save several clicks and make it more intuitive to increase participation - and making it easier to promote and boost PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP upgrades seems like a no-brainer!
