route in parts

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I am going to cycle 350 kilometres in a route that is 500 kilometres. I will cycle 70 km and 30 km in a car, another 70 on the bike and 30 in a car and so on. Can I get this on strava in one ride or do i need to upload each 70 km?

I know it can be done with a Garmin or a Wahoo computer, just hit pause (not end ride or save) and turn off the computer before you get in the car.  Then when you're ready to ride again, turn the computer on and it will start recording at your new location when you press resume.  Garmin's watches must work similarly.  I can't speak to the mobile app as I haven't used it in years.  When you upload, Strava will show a straight line between the two locations, but that distance will not count in your total miles.

I might suggest you try a test run with this method around your neighborhood before the real event just to get your button pressing technique down pat.

Additionally check you recording device limitations, some has difficulties to record more than i.e. 200 km or resuming an activity after too long pauses.

Thanks, maybe it is better to just upload the 70 km, and start a new ride.
