Trophy earned appearing in cabinet - but doesnt show on activity / feed ?

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

I earned a Trophy yesterday. That Trophy shows in my cabinet on my profile. But didn’t / doesn’t show against the activity where I earned it - as it always usually does. I wondered if it was a blip in the system…..

Today I’ve completed the ‘February Walk 50k’ Challenge. And infact earned another Trophy today. Again they are  showing in my Cabinet / Trophies earned. But didn’t ever / doesn’t show against todays activity that earned it and took me over the 50k.

Ive looked through all my settings (App and full web version). And even un-joined and re-joined both Challenges. I got re-notified I’d completed both these challenges. But it didn’t change the Trophies not showing against todays activity.

Any bright ideas please ?

Not that it’s going to help but same problem for me - started at the beginning of the month I reckon. Got a ticket posted with Strava so will post any response.

That would be great. Thankyou - i’ll do the same.

Start of February would be about right / maybe just a little late for me too. As i’m sure some Trophies from early in the month showed as normal.

I did wonder if this issue co-incided with me updating my iphone IOS to version18.3 ??

I just had the same thing with my 400 minutes of being active challenge. 5k and 10k run appeared ok in my feed, I achieved the half marathon challenge but that got “taken over” on the feed by a brooks challenge, but it does list it under “challenges” in the details of the activity.

I’ve not recently updated IOS, so don’t think it’s linked to that.

Very frustrating though!

Hi sevenfourate,

First of all, you’re not alone with this. And it is safe to say that it is not an iOS issue, as it is the same for me on Android, and on the Web. I have heard and read from several other users, that they are not able to see their own completed challenges in the activity that completed them, and we cannot see challenges completed by other athletes either. I used to check for interesting challenges and join them, when giving Kudos to other athletes. Not possible anymore.

I can hardly imagine this is intended, as brand challenges are an important source of income for Strava (brands have to pay money for launching challenges), and visibility is of course the number one selling point of challenges. If we, the potential customers, cannot see them, they become basically worthless to the brand/company as they don’t get any return on their investment.

Even while there is currently no official statement from Strava, I would expect this to be fixed soon, as brands/companies that have paid for upcoming/ongoing challenges with the goal of promoting their brand, may be a tad bit disappointed learning that their promotion is hidden from the Strava userbase 😉

So in that case your “solution” would be to wait for Strava to fix it, since there is nothing wrong with your device/software. If you want, you can of course always open a ticket, if you feel that adds visibility to the issue.

Cheers,

Hi sevenfourate,

Just checked again, and only a few hours after my previous answer, I noticed I can see completed challenges again in the app and on the web. Check again, might work again!

Hi and thanks very much for your reply.

Nothing changed my end.

Completed challenges still showing in my Trophy Case. But not on / against the activity the challenge was completed on. Activities going back to the start of the month when i noticed this problem; still dont haveTrophies gained; showing against them either.

I first reported this on the 8th Febraury. And today i’ve received my 3rd email - telling me Strava is very busy with issues at the moment and will get to this as soon as they are able.

Good luck. Regards 748

Hi folks, update on previous post - response from Strava ticket:

“Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the delayed reply! It looks like this is a bug our engineers are currently working to fix. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

In the meantime, a workaround we are finding success with is if you leave and rejoin the Challenge, your activities should update to reflect the progress and completion banners.”

Not tried the workaround yet.

As above on one of my previous replies in this thread: leaving and rejoining Challenges changed nothing at all for me ☹️

Well Strava appears to have resolved the issue, just completed a challenge and it automatically registered in the activity without any intervention by myself. Hopefully that’s the end of this bug 🤞
