I have developped an application that sends heart rate from a Wear OS watch to Garmin Edge bike computers. Heart rate is saved in a developer field that should override heart rate native values. I do the same for power (in a developer field inside the fit file). Power is displayed on Strava but not heart rate. It would be great if Strava displays heart rate values from developer fields with nativenum = 3 when heart rate is not already present in the .fit file.

This way people will be able to use their Wear OS smartwatch as a HRM together with their Garmin GPS and get heart rate on Strava.

Thanks for your consideration

Hey GregoryCordier,

Thanks for letting us know. We are documenting this as feedback.

Agreed this would be really useful as I’ve been using Gregory’s App but not seeing my HR data in Strava.

Hey Strava team,

Just wanted to bump this thread has been open for over a year now with no response, and it’s still something the community really needs.

The idea is pretty straightforward: support heart rate from developer fields (with nativenum = 3) when there’s no native HR in the .fit file. Power from developer fields already works, so it feels like HR should too. This would make it possible for folks using Wear OS watches with Garmin Edge units to get their heart rate data into Strava properly.

Would love to hear if this is on the radar at all. Even a quick update would be appreciated!

Thanks!
