Fix route creation

Tried to write this when forums where down (lol), so brief and to the point here:

Fix route creation. Cannot believe it hasn’t been fixed yet, it’s useless now. Nothing is functional, it selects the specific route no one wants to ride, double click adds a way point (I think single click for that is enough clicks, there are only so many, and right now, I give zero clicks for my previous fave function). Concretely: get the functionality of the old model. There are many others things that are wrong, you can find a long list in all the posts that no one submitted when the forum was down.

Oh, and make sure you ditch this API circus. I know whoever reads this has zero influence on it, but I just want you to know had bad Strava is becoming.

Thank you for once being awesome.

I created routes in the last days and didn’t encounter these problems. Merely the heatmaps are useless when using any other sports type than ride or run outside of overcrowded regions.

What is the API circus?

Hm, interesting. Is double-click is only zoom-in for you, or does it add a way point? And what happens if you switch from “fastest” to “most popular” route during the route planning? For me, it manages to select a nice combination of “the least desirable” and “mostly irrelevant”. And if I want to change parts of the route by placing new way points, it have to place one for each 50m. Not fun at all.

@Birksted For me there is no double click option in route creation. One click creates a waypoint. Clicking again on this waypoints opens a menu regardless how fast the second click comes.

The “Most popular” option uses the heatmap and for my part this works as intended, meaning longer routes as a result but using roads more people use.
