activities are not syncing from apple watch to strava app
Currently, I have 5 activities stuck on my Apple Ultra watch as unsynced that are not showing up on my Strava. Please help! I have closed the Strava app on both my apple watch and iPhone, restarted both my apple watch and iPhone, and made sure I have wifi and that they are connected to Bluetooth but no luck. I am not sure what else to do. Since I’m prepping for a half marathon I would like to have the data.

Hi @leonvalentink, are you recording with the Apple Workout app (and then syncing to Strava), or with the AW Strava app?
Both. But 90% with Apple Watch Strava App. The 5 unsynced activities are on the AW Strava App.
I thought it may relate to the recent Apple iOS update but I also updated the watchOS and the problem still persists.
ok so if you go to the app’s settings and tap the “unsynced” button (that now probably shows a non-zero number), do you get an option to force the sync? And if it doesn’t work - is there any error message?
Yes I can see that, there are 5 unsynced activities listed (that’s why I know it’s 5 as mentioned in my post).
The error message is as follows „to sync your activity, make sure your Apple Watch is connected to the network“.
However, Bluetooth is on, I’m connected to the WiFi, phone is close to watch, I have ¾ bars network… I didn’t change any settings and I’m at home, there was never an issue before.
There are 5. it says „to sync your activity, make sure your Apple Watch is connected to the network.“
Bluetooth on phone is on, phone is connected to WiFi, I have ¾ bars in network. I’m at home, reception is good, never had a problem here.
Hmm 🤨 that's odd.
Just an idea… are both the AW and iPhone connected to the same wifi? I have a regular wifi and a guest one at home, and for whatever reason, my phone sometimes connects to the guest network without me noticing. And that causes issues with e.g. smart lights / devices. So perhaps double check that..?
Yes, when I go to setting on my Apple ultra watch, WiFi is on, then I select the Home WiFi (there is only one) in which my phone is also connected. Then go back to the AW strava app and try to manually sync the unsynced activities but the issue persists. Same error message. 🤔🤷🏼♂️ I even tried with phone hotspot. I really don’t know what to do or how to fix it.
Now I even re-activated an e-sim to try whether this will fix it, but error message in AW strava app persists, when I try to manually upload.
Any other ideas? Does strava help?
It seems that nobody else has any ideas, I’m afraid you might need to reach out to Strava Support, here’s how:
Just a note - they’re quite busy and you’ll most likely get an auto-response pointing you to this community hub, suggesting that you try getting help here. Don't let that discourage you and insist that Support assists you.
Thank you for the message and link to the strava support, unfortunately it took all too long, would have preferred to reach out directly to them. Everything you mentioned I had already tried. But in was somehow directed to this forum as first base.
Anyways I already fixed it myself. On 4th of October (Saturday) I added the unsynced activities on strava manually without proper data, then deleted the app on the AppleWatch and reinstalled. Then the app had the newest look (not sure if it was an app update or just the watchOS glass design) and all works fine since them. Already recorded two runs.
