I would like to ask about my Strava connection with Amazfit. I’m getting an “error connecting your device” message, even though the Zepp app is already linked to Strava. The activity data is syncing automatically to Strava, but my gear (like Garmin) is not detected in Strava.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide device-specific information on activities recorded using this Amazfit device due to the fact that device information is not included in the activity files uploaded to Strava. Without this information, we are able to tell that the activity came from Amazfit/Zepp, but not the exact device used during the activity.

Ciao @Chandrawh. Have you ever linked another device to the Zepp app?

Are you referring to another watch when you mention Garmin?

Hi @Vincenzo ,
Thanks for your response.

Yes, I’ve already connected my Amazfit BIP 6 to the Zepp app, and the Zepp app is successfully linked to Strava. My activity data is syncing automatically to Strava, so that part works fine.

What I meant is that the name of the gear/watch (Amazfit BIP 6) does not appear in Strava, unlike in the example I attached where a Huawei watch is clearly recognized and displayed in Strava. So this is not a “connection issue,” but rather that Strava doesn’t detect or display the watch name even though the activity data is synced correctly.

Hi @Jimi ,

Same issue here with my Amazfit BIP 6. You should check this out: #Issue with Amazfit GTR 2 Not Displaying as Device on Strava/Problema com GTR 2 não exibido no Strava

Hi @Vincenzo ,
Thanks for your response.

Yes, I’ve already connected my Amazfit BIP 6 to the Zepp app, and the Zepp app is successfully linked to Strava. My activity data syncs automatically to Strava, so that part is working fine.

However, when attempting to connect from Strava to Zepp, it says “There was an error connecting your device”, even though the latest activity data is successfully transferred to Strava.

What I meant is that the name of the gear/watch (Amazfit BIP 6) does not appear in Strava. Unlike other smartwatches that are detected and shown as gear in each activity, Strava doesn’t recognize or display the watch name—even though the activity data is synced correctly.

You should check this topic which has the same problem: #Issue with Amazfit GTR 2 Not Displaying as Device on Strava/Problema com GTR 2 não exibido no Strava

@Chandrawh  Why do you want to connect Strava with Zepp if the connection already exists and activities are synced sucessfully?

For the part with the gear name Jimi has explained, that this information is not delivered by Zepp and therefore can’t be displayed in Strava. Maybe you can ask someone on the Zepp side to change that.
