It would be great to be able to add and remove components on a bike without loosing it's mileage. It is mostly apparent when changing wheels/tires. Currently we only have an option to retire a component and then delete it totally.

Being able to "unretire" bike components is a great idea and relfects real world activities. How's the vote coming on to get this feature added?
I totally agree. Been very frustrated as I have winter and summer wheels for my road bike and can't track mileage on them for overall wear.
It would be useful if the "components" section of each bike allowed a previously retired component to be put back into service. This would be very useful to check the mileage of the components which can be changed based on the climate or seasons. In MTB it is common to use different tyres, wheels, chainrings and even brake pads or discs depending on the weather conditions. Some people also use two chains, which they alternate periodically, to lengthen the life of the transmission.
It would also be useful to have "custom" components that can be named by the user. I changed the rear wheel bearing and had to use the "rear wheel" field to record it
This would be really helpful for those of us who build our own bikes and would at least like to track the usage of individual components. With this, I could for example have a rough idea when to start watching out for cassette wear and such.
