Strava will be the right choice. I dont want to remember to switch it on. I just want to know how far I have gone and where I have gone. I am not concerned about time. Advice?

Thanks for your post and sorry for the delay. In order for the app to track your movement, you will need to press start. For more info on recording activities, please check out the following post: Getting Started with Strava: Tracking Activities
