I don't have an answer for you but I certainly an curious what kind of photos that was… and if it was something bad enough to get her banned (such as: promoting violence or similar), why would anyone even post that?

Check her Instagram page zoediscovers" and you will see that she is a kind and open-minded girl.

I think I found more info on this.  Look at the dcrainmaker dot com site.  Article entitled “
Strava Bans User for Running in North Korea”

To me, it looks like Strava may have overreacted a bit.

So I’ve left a reply here earlier but, probably because of keywords, wasn't published. Re-worded version:
This Zoe Stephens is an individual who actively promotes tourism to N.K. - and tourism is a source of income for the totalitarian regime that's committing unspeakable crimes against their own people. Helping to fund that isn't “kind and open-minded” in my book. To be honest I wouldn't blame Strava that they don't want to have anything to do with that.
Another thing to keep in mind: in N.K., using a gps device and posting routes / maps online can be easily charged as espionage. In N.K., you’ll get a d*ath sentence for less. If you're lucky, it would only be a work camp sentence (which is pretty much the same thing though). So by preventing people from doing this, Strava is actually saving their unwise rear ends, so to speak.
