I'm a beginner runner. I've had water in my lungs and had a mitral valve replacement, but without any restrictions on sports or medication. When I run, I feel tired and have some difficulty breathing deeply. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for breathing exercises that could help me?

Hi @Laízi Martinelli,

maybe someone will be able to share their similar experience, though this question might be best answered by a (sports) physiotherapist, try booking an appointment with one in your area.

And in general / without any relation to the medical condition, I’d suggest - slow down. Run really slowly and in run/walk intervals, till you gain some endurance and improve your fitness. It may be boring and tiring, but really find a pace slow enough so that while running, you can easily have a conversation (whole sentences, not losing breath), or, if running alone, sing out loud (sounds funny but it works!) - and run 3-4x a week. You should see improvement soon.
