Every time I open the app the UI design gets worse and worse. Please can they stop complicating it.

Also what is up with these new shield icons - it’s actually terrible.

Have never been in the community forums before because I had no need to be, but I came here to say this

The UI updates are really bad and completely unnecessary. The odd gradient in the top right corner of the profile just doesn’t work. It makes the icons up there washed out (doubt that would pass a11y) and the profile shield looks bad too - this feels like it’s a defect that happened as a result of a design system update that went awry or someone on the UI team wants to “be different” and pushed this through somehow.

Hi @morrydraco and @ebond,

there’s actually a related thread with a discussion going on, it would be great if you could share your thoughts there to keep the feedback at one place:

Yes. I am in the same situation. First time here and it’s because my avatar has gone from a nice simple circle, to a shield.

The things I really don’t like about it, are the fact that it is now actually smaller and I can’t actually see what the picture is anymore. And the other, is that the orange frame completely interferes with the content on the images, and clashes in some instances.

It is as if the shield is now only the to say “hey, I’m paying money to use this” instead of just showing the person.

For me it makes me consider stopping my subscription, just so can make it go away at least on my picture.

So, please can you remove this again, or at least allow us to turn back to the usual display that non-paying users get. I would much prefer this!

Thank you!

I am not getting on with the recent updates. I don't like any of the publishable maps. If someone asks me where I went today, what use are either of these graphics?

I don't like the way the screen decides it wants to spin around and find the way I'm walking or cycling, it makes me feel sick while it does it and I have to look away.

I'm not an idiot, I don't need a map to spin as I walk. The screen is much 'busier' now, I've used Strava for years as a paying subscriber and the developers think I want all this. I don't. I'm definitely going to cancel the subscription as I'm avoiding looking at the app screen as I exercise - and I'm not paying £££ a year for that.
