May I suggest you add one (or two) extra categories for ‘type of ride’ (for cycling)? Currently the choices are: workout / race / commute. However, I frequently have days where I am using my bike to shop, run errands, and get around town etc… , which are quite different to rides where I commute. Perhaps ‘utility ride’ might suffice to cover those types of activity? Thanks
According to Merriam-Websters dictionary, a commute is: to travel back and forth regularly (as between a suburb and a city) Therefore I do believe when you said: “I frequently have days where I am using my bike to shop, run errands, and get around town“ that it counts as a commute. However an option for “other” or something similar might be a good idea
Hey @Serif
We appreciate your participation in the Community. It’s not entirely clear from your post what you’re suggesting here as it sounds quite similar to commuting. Hi KBryant24,
Commuting means a journey to a particular location on repeated days, e.g. commuting to work, or commuting to college.
Spending a few hours traveling between multiple locations to shop, run errands, visit friends etc... is not usually described as commuting (at least not in my experience). 'I commuted to do some errands around town', or 'I commuted to my friend's', really don't collocate or scan properly (and don't make sense unless you're doing exactly the same journey on repeated days).
So, maybe add another category for rides. In the meantime, I'm going to 'commute' to the dentist's for a checkup (does that sound right to you?).
