Can someone at Strava provide an update on when we’ll be able access the 3D backcountry ski mapping capabilities that FATMAP offered through the platform integration? (i.e. slope angle shading and topography details?) This was a critical tool for alpine travel and many are hoping to rely on this for winter activities.
To build on the comment below, Fatmap is literally life saving for the off-route / off-piste ski community. It is imperative that Strava provide feedback on timing of Fatmap back-country and freeride ski routes being integrated into their app.
I completely agree, Claire! FATMAP was essential for backcountry skiing, with features like slope angle shading and topography. The absence of these features makes it much harder to plan safe backcountry trips.

I recommend checking out apps like Caltopo or Outmap. Outmap (iOS/Android) has features like slope angle, slope aspect, avalanche risk, flat areas, and excellent 3D maps. I think it’s the closest alternative to Fatmap we currently have for winter sports.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!
