I seem to be getting a lot of new followers lately who don’t have any followers and don’t seem to be active on Strava. What is this about and is there any way for Strava to catch and limit this? Thanks!

Hi ​@Lisa Wolfe , you can report an athlete account that appears to be spam. Please follow the steps below.

Reporting a profile from the Strava website:

Go to the profile page of the account you'd like to report.

  1. Click the gear icon below their name and avatar.
  2. Click Report.
  3. Select Impersonation, Scam, or Spam 
  4. Choose Spam as the reason for reporting. 

Reporting a profile from the Strava mobile app:

Go to the profile page of the account you'd like to report.

  1. Click the three-dot icon.
  2. Click Report.
  3. Select Impersonation, Scam, or Spam 
  4. Choose Spam as the reason for reporting.

I am getting this also.  It’s been a HUGE influx of fake/bot accounts that have been requesting to follow and then immediately started chatting with me.   Is there a better way to vet new users to make sure they are real and not bots that are stealing photos, impersonating, and just following as many accounts as possible?   I have been reporting, but seem to be getting several a day now -  Sad.
