I participated in the Valencia Marathon. Somehow, a commercial challenge from Nike got added to my Strava account. I don't want this commercial junk. I don't see any way to remove this challenge. Does anyone know how I can remove it?

It looks like everyone who completed the segment on the 15th km on Dec 7 was enrolled automatically, as described in the challenge:

It doesn't seem that there's a way to opt out 😕 perhaps making the run private / followers only, recalculating achievements, and make it public again could work. Or “hiding” the qualifying segment from your activity to see whether it removes the badge.

If all fails you might need to contact Support (just note, the response times are fairly long from what I hear):

Thanks for your prompt response. I find it inappropriate that Strava is exploiting my performance for its commercial purposes. With a paid subscription, you expect to be protected from this commercial garbage. It becomes rude when the opt-out function is deliberately omitted. Shame on Strava!

I’ve submitted a request. Response time was quite well. It’s solved now. Support representative removed me from Nike challenge. 😀

Yay, glad to hear that it was resolved so fast. Thanks for updating this thread! (I keep seeing complaints from people that it took weeks for them to hear back from Support. So this is actually a nice surprise! 👍)

I'm glad Strava took my request seriously. I'm happy with this service. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a difference in treatment for paying subscribers. 😉
