in the instructions for segments for Garmin devices there is a bar with the option to enable or disable 20-30 popular segments nearby. However, neither on the website nor in the application is there a possibility to enable such an option. I bought a Garmin device so that I wouldn't have to think about constantly marking segments with a star, but could ride and see popular segments at the same time. Why can't I enable this option?
+26Don’t you see the “Popular Segments” option on the Strava website in your starred segments (URL would be https://www.strava.com/athlete/segments/starred) like in the screenshot?
+1I have a Premium account and I don't have this option. Neither in the Android app nor in any browser on Android or Windows. On my Garmin account connected to Strava I use Edge 1040.

I just did a little test ride around the neighborhood, it loaded as expected. The only thing different I now realize is that I’m now using a Edge Explore 2 which doesn’t have segments of any kind, live or popular. Which means this is a moot point for me. But nonetheless that shouldn’t affect what Strava displays on their web pages, as I could buy an Edge 840 tomorrow. And the original poster is using a Edge 1040… which certainly has live segments. What gives?
+1In short, one big mess. One works, the other doesn't... I have the impression that Strava's programmers don't care about user feedback at all. For x years, the problem of the lack of segments on the Garmin course has not been solved, the current route planner loses segments after generating a route. Mess in the attic... Please help me what should I do to have the option to activate popular Garmin segments!!!
