Hi everyone,

I’m new here and happy to join the Strava community hub !

I started running about 10 years ago, back when Strava was just getting started. At the time, I used Nike Run Club and have since built up over 2.200 km of running history that I really don’t want to lose.

I’ve linked my Strava and NRC accounts, but unfortunately that only syncs new runs, not the old ones. Since there’s no way to import my historical data directly, I requested my data export from Nike, which provided me with TCX files.

The problem : when I upload the TCX files to Strava, the distance and time (the pace too, as a consequence) are often incorrect. I’ve tried a few sample files, and these issues appear consistently.

Has anyone else run into this ? If so, did you find a reliable solution or tool to fix it ? Ideally, I’m looking for something that can help me batch-correct hundreds of runs without having to edit them one by one.

Thanks in advance. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated !

Ciao. I'm not experienced in NRC so I can't help you with your request about the massive activities uploading but I've just found this past answer about the datas differences you're experiencing. I hope it may help:

Thanks for you reply. It seems to be another issue, as this wasn't a “small” difference. My 1h run of 10 kilometers has been converted as a 0,2 miles run of a few minutes. Only the map is correct at the moment.

Hi @Vincenzo. Thanks for reaching out. It seems to be another issue as there is more than a “small difference”. A 1h run of 10 kilometers can be converted into a 0.2 miles run of a few minutes. Only the map is correct at the moment.

Hi @sebmeunier,

do you by chance have the runs also anywhere else? Such as, Apple Health. Because from brief googling and checking related Reddit discussions, it looks like this is a common problem with TCX files from NRC.

If you do have the runs in Health, it would be worth getting an app like RunGap (there's a small fee but nothing tremendously expensive), it's what I’ve used too when importing my pre-Strava history.

Thanks @Jana_S for your answer. They're visible in Apple Health too but I don’t know to what extent we can extract them, as they're apparently linked to NRC and do not contain - at least on the frond end - all the details, like the map and the intervals.

@sebmeunier try viewing them through the Fitness app (the one with the “rings” icon), that actually might show something more incl. the map - when you open the fitness app, go to recent workouts (open their list), scroll down through the history and look at samples.
If the data isn't there then it's a dead end (and let’s try to figure out something else). If it is there, then you can use RunGap or another of the data import apps, https://www.strava.com/apps/data-importer
