after a training the Strava app allows different things to be hidden to the public. Like heart rate.
Is there a specific reason why it is not possible to hide cadence? In some cases I would like to be able to hide it.
My request would be to also make it an additional field that can be hidden.

To OP @eddie_moskopp and anyone else who stumbles into this thread: while you can’t hide cadence through Strava yet, a workable solution should you lose and rediscover your sensor like he did:
Reupload your edited file to Strava and don’t forget to delete the original

I'm a volunteer here so I don't know for sure, but here's my guess: They're obligated to offer to hide your heart rate because that's considered medical info, and subject to privacy rights. Cadence info is one of a few items that can be used as proof that a cyclist actually earned a KOM, so we all want to see that to detect cheating.

that kinda makes sense! Thanks for the good answer! In my current case I lost my cadence sensor and found it again on the way back 😂😂 It had been overrun by cars several times but still worked. Naturally, my cadence for this ride is complete bonkers.
LOL What a nonsense. Cadence is a proof of the KOM, how come, buddy? You can hide power, but not cadence… What’s the point then? It’s not way more importance for a KOM power than cadence?

Just as an example - I’ve kicked many cheaters out of my favourite segments leaderboards exactly thanks to cadence. They faked runs on inline skates, and the cadence difference is pretty clear there. There's no point in hiding cadence tbh.
I bet I read the data better than you. Have a nice day.
If you can’t see how cadence could be used to help detect someone cheating, then I doubt you are reading the data better than any of us. If someone beats my running CR but posts a cadence of 75, it is pretty clear they were not running. Additionally, if the cadence suddenly drops to zero after they got in a car to drive away, it can help identify that a KOM or CR earned after that point was in a vehicle. True, it won’t work for every situation, but there are plenty of times where it could be an indicator.
