As the person maintaining the library of Strava segments for Zwift, I’ve noticed Strava hasn't been matching certain activities to certain segments.
It seems to apply to segments that include multiple loops of a circuit, or repeated sections of road. The following segments are affected by this bug (there may be others):
What makes this an especially odd bug is that it doesn't seem to apply to older segments. But newer ones - at least those created after April 2024, although I don't have a precise date - are affected. Here are some older segments which clearly include multiple loops, yet they are still being matched to activities just fine:
There are other older segments I could list, these are just two examples. Every old multi-loop segment I check is still functioning, but any created after April 2024 is not.
Please fix it, Strava! It’s really frustrating for Strava loving Zwifters to complete routes in game, but not have a matching segment.
