When viewing my activity you used to be able to drag open the map with a resizer or a drag grip to enlarge it to what ever size you wanted and keep all the data in view, now that function is not there you have now to open the map fully which then takes away all the data etc, its also not there when you go into analyze a segment same thing you have to enlarge to full screen why have you done this as it was a good feature and now annoying

As a simple workaround, you can create a bookmark with the following URL:

javascript:Object.assign(document.getElementById("map-canvas").style,{overflow:"hidden",resize:"vertical"})

Whenever you’re on Strava, you can click the bookmark and it will make the map resizable vertically (by dragging the bottom right corner of the map). Alternatively, you can use something like the Violentmonkey extension to do it automatically.

This is so annoying I always drag the size of the map window so I can view more of a route, this is especially irritating when you are creating a new route and need to look at an activity that you have already done. having a landscape sliver of the map is so unhelpful.

This is indeed super unhelpful. Destroys a main feature of Strava - to view your ride on a map.

I just received the update today...

WTF Strava? There is absolutely no way to resize the map in the “Analysis” section. So, on my nifty 4k screen at 100% scaling, I’m stuck with a tiny map at the top of the screen.

Strava’s web app stays dormant for years, and when they finally make a change, this is what they come up with?

Yes good shout, and a useless replay function of the ride which has no analytic value what so ever just a gimmick

Well done to you for sussing the work around but as a premium member or even standard you shouldn't have to do that especially when its always been there

You can also use Stylus or a similar extension to add custom CSS to make it “permanent”:

#map-canvas {
overflow: hidden;
resize: vertical;
}

If you want to resize in both directions, you can change the resize line to resize: both;.
