Strava should allow wider photos so that we can fully upload landscapes and photos of our groups of people. The current format is very restrictive.

Can you not currently upload photos of any size?

Yes I can, but Strava cuts the photo. If I uoload a photo with my bike and a landscape behind me, the landscape will not appear totally. Another example, if I upload a photo with my bike group, like 10 people together, probably some from both sides will be cuted

But if you tap on it, the full photo shows, yes?

I get your point @runepang29 . I need to express myself better. You are right. I can download photos of any size and if I tap on them I can see them properly on the strava app. My point is about sharing these photos on social media like Instagram with the Strava logo and ride information like distance (KM), elapsed time and elevation, you know, standard sharing parameters. When I click to share, these issues I reported happen (shrinks, cuts)

Just chiming in… so in the other words, you’re saying - Strava should not crop photos when saving/sharing an activity. I agree, it's a shame that the photo is not used in the original format. I’m attaching an example from one of my past runs to illustrate.

(The quality degradation is another problem, but that happens already when uploading photos to Strava...)

I’m not sure I see your point. Below, see two photos, one of a 16:9 ratio and the other 3:4. When shared, both retain their size.

This is no longer the case.  Currently, landscape images are cropped when shared.
