run tracked on Apple Watch - went to upload page and pressed ‘import’ - there is now a tick by the run however there is nothing on my page. I have deleted the app / turned phone off and on again but still not working. 

Hi ​@gemmaodonnell99, just to confirm - have you recorded with the Apple Workout app and imported from Health to Strava, or recorded with Strava and imported from the watch to phone within Strava?

Your description sounds like the first scenario - if it's correct, try re-importing the activity. Just tap the ✔️ next to the activity and confirm the prompt that pops up.

Hi Jane! Thanks for this.. Unfortunately I have tried many times and nothing happens when I press import. I have closed the app / deleted the app off my phone / turned phone off and on again and still nothing! Getting worried as I have the London Marathon Next weekend and would be gutted if I couldn’t upload and have it tracked on my account!

That sounds unusual... 🤔 people sometimes report delays with their synced activities to actually show up, because of some issues on the Strava servers, but this doesn't seem to be the case - per the status page, everything’s ok: https://status.strava.com

Another possibility… by chance, have you traveled / changed your time zone (or changed time in your watch/phone)? The other day I’ve seen a situation when an activity wouldn't show up, because it was “recorded in the future” - and it only appeared when the “future time” actually passed. Which would mean you'd just need to wait, probably not more than a couple of hours.

If this is not the reason either… would you please post a screenshot of the activity summary from the Fitness app on your phone? Maybe there will be something unusual that's causing the issue...


I wish I had been away somewhere nice and warm but unfortunately again this isn’t the case !! Good to know though incase that happens! I have attached pictures from the Fitness Summary but let me know if you need any others!

Oh - it's usually fairly quick but it's a long weekend, so the moderators might be somewhere out on the trails… 🙂 I’ll keep an eye on this thread to look at the screenshot once it appears!


Hey Jana, I have the same problem. Deleting the app and also switching off the phone had not helped out. Same as in the other example I imported my ride a serveral times and I did not show up, other workouts of the day had already been updated but the one this morning is not possible. May you can help out ? 


Hi ​@Larissankmm, also an activity done via the Apple Workout app on AW, and you would usually sync it to Strava afterwards, right?

Just a thought… how long was that activity? The same question for ​@gemmaodonnell99. I’ve recently seen some people complaining about long runs (marathons) not syncing properly. Maybe your issue isn't related but I thought I’d ask.

 

While waiting for Gemma’s screenshot to show up, I’ll yet mention a workaround - should everything else fail, you can use a 3rd party app (such as RunGap - that's what I use in similar scenarios, though I mainly use it to sync my runs from Apple Health to Runalyze and Garmin Connect), to export the activity from Health and to import it to Strava. It doesn't address the cause of the issue (which we may or may not find), but it might help to get the missing activity on your Strava.


 


 


@Jana_S I have tried again to upload the pics but still no luck… it was a rather long run (20miles / 32KM) so this could be why… however I am running the London Marathon next weekend and would be gutted if I couldn’t record because of this! 


@gemmaodonnell99 oh shoot, so that's probably it, even without seeing that screenshot… in the meantime I’ve looked up the related thread:

The author of the thread mentions yet another 3rd party app as a workaround to sync the activity. It might be helpful if you post a comment to that thread too, to indicate that you're also affected - the more people report it, the higher priority the fix might get (I hope!)

You can also contact Support, but they're so swamped with tickets these days that the response times are rather long (people mention several weeks wait time), so I’m not sure whether it could help. Dear Jana, yes activity lasts longer than 2,5h :) but nevertheless thanks for your help. I downloaded the app and could manage everything but one thing it costs 6€ per 3 month - hope Strava can clarify and fix its bugs cause that’s such a pity….


@Larissankmm yeah these apps usually aren’t free, having to use one just to get around a bug in Strava isn't great 😒 If you have a moment, please add your comment to the known issue thread I mentioned above, to increase its visibility...

same boat here. my short bike rides import just fine. did a 55 mile ride today and it shows the check mark after a long wait then does not show up in activities. 


I have the same problem for a long ride (> 4 hours). Did you manage to solve the issue? ​@gemmaodonnell99 ​@Larissankmm 


Yes! I emailed the support team who were really helpful!
 

This was their response - “It looks like there was some bad file data present when the activity initially synced, which I've since cleared. You can go ahead and re-import the file as expected now.” 

Once I received the email I went back onto the Strava App and it allowed me to upload again!

How much did it take to get the reply? Did it happen again for your marathon (hope it went well and congratulations btw)?


After my initial email to the support team it took around 3 to 4 days (which I think even included a bank holiday weekend). It hasn’t happened since and I was able to upload my marathon absolutely fine!! Haha thank you!!! 🕺🏼🕺🏼Hopefully you can get it resolved as it’s so lovely to look back and keep track of these activities!
