Hi

has anyone had this issue?

my account has reverted to ‘free’ midway through a years subscription without any input from me. I contacted Strava support who suggested I had a duplicate account which is not the case. I cannot prove that my account is paid for other than a screenshot of my subscription on my phone. I don’t have my original email as this was deleted.
This is extremely frustrating!

After a lot of back and forth with Strava I got to the bottom of it.
I paid for mine and my wife’s subscriptions through my Apple account and this was the issue, I got the following reply;

We recently made an update that prevented users from sharing a subscription when using Apple's Family Sharing Plan. Since we're unable to recognize your Apple subscription, I've created a promo code to redeem to activate a subscription through our website.

i hope this helps anyone who encounters this problem in the future.

To rule out there is really no duplicate Strava account at work: Are all your activities from before the free account still there in your activity list?

And in general there should be bank statements or other forms of bills where you can see the deduction of the Strava fee.
