Hi @JonSprank, what you describe sounds like this issue,
unfortunately it still hasn't been fixed, and the only reliable workaround seems to be using the native Workout app on AW & syncing to Strava after the activity is complete.
I’ve been having this issue as well - seems to help if I close the Apple workout app and only have strava open. This was working for the last couple of months, but this week I’ve noticed some irregularities is my run routes again - some straight lines that skipped over a few trail switchbacks….but it hasn’t fully dropped the run like it was doing in February.

Wait - are you using both Strava and Apple Workout in parallel?? That's unnecessary / not how they're designed to be used. It's one or another, and sync the activities afterwards (otherwise you'll end up with duplicates)
No, just trying to use Strava. But fully closing the apple workout app on my watch.
