Hello!

I see that there are many, many Strava apps available. I am looking for one that will provide an MS Excel output report for a set of approximately 300 segments (which I have listed), showing which ones I am the Local Legend (and how far back the #2 person is on the leaderboard), as well as the ones where I am not the Local Legend (and how close I am to the #1 person on the leaderboard).

Does anyone know if such an app already exists? Is there an efficient method to checking the available apps to see if there is one with such functionality?

Thank you,

Dennis

A third party app with the full set of functionality can’t exist because apps only have access to the current local legend on a segment but not to all the other ranks. If there is an app that will list at least that for the segments you request I don’t know too, that would require a search request in the usual search engines.

Thank you Jan, I appreciate it. I envisioned that there may be an app that would “scrape” the Local Legend leaderboard information, at least to pick up the top 2 placings, plus my own placing. In discussion with some IT developers at my work, scraping can be done. I’m just wondering if an app already exists to scrape this Local Legend data, or if I would have to explore building my own.

My search engine efforts so far haven’t found any such apps, but it sounds like the Strava apps available through this site are not included in those results. Consequently, this posting was to see if anyone knew of an app performing such Local Legend scraping already.

Even with web scraping you will only get the first rank and the number of tries of the scraping account’s followers. And I might add that this wouldn’t be an allowed Strava app anymore because only apps which use the official Strava API are permitted.

Well shoot, that’s too bad!

I’m thinking about narrowing my scope to looking for an app that takes my subset of 300 specified segments, and only compares my number of efforts vs. the number of efforts of the Local Legend. Your first response indicates that apps have access to the current Local Legend’s name, but do the apps have access to the Legend’s number of efforts? And is my own number of efforts per segment exportable?

I tried looking through all the official Strava apps, and none of the ones that I went through seem to do any tracking or analysis of Local Legend data.
