For a week or so now the map that is displayed when opening an activity defaults to the middle of Africa. Likely the equator  at Null Island rather than defaulting to the activity area /  showing the activity on the map.

I’m a strava user of many years so am used to Strava’s quirks from time to time, but this seems to persist and I am not sure anyone else is having the same issue. It only seems to be an issue on desktop / website.

I cant see anything awry in settings Etc and think s like OS maps and Google seem to default to my rough area as usual. But again this is an issue when viewing saved activities not when recording new ones, so usually it doesnt matter where I am, it defaults to the area of the activity. I.e. When I am at home in North West England and view an activity in France the map opens showing the part of France relating to the activity

Still nothing to add on this one but;

I now notice that if I click Overview within the activity it then reloads with the map centred on the activity.

However if I then edit the activity name, etc then click save it defaults back to Null Island.

Also. Splitting isn't working, when submitting I get the wheel of death for hours!

I have this problem with the Null Island often too, it’s not consistent. At least it’s easy to switch to showing the route when clicking on a segment (if there is one).

I get the same thing (map of Brazil and Central Africa instead of the North of England and my Activity) about 1 time in 5.
