Hi Strava Team,

Ā

I’d like to raise an issue regarding my recent activity sync. I just completed 42.30 km — my first-ever marathon, and I intentionally went over the distance to make sure I covered it completely. However, when the data synced to Strava, it came up short, which is really disappointing after all the effort I put in.

Ā

Please look into this and fix or adjust the synced distance to reflect the actual 42.30 km. I hope this can be resolved as soon as possible, as this run is very important to me.

Ā

Your immediate response to this issueĀ is greatly appreciated

Ā

Thank you,

You could try the ā€œCorrect distanceā€ feature for that activity, only available in the web browser. If thisĀ option it’s not there or the correction isn’t enough then maybe the GPS of your recording didn’t got the complete distance or the distance wasn’t actually a marathon. Unfortunately there isn’t anything outside of file manipulating that can be done about this.

How far over the distance did you go and was that based on what you were seeing measured on the device or just going past a finish line of an event?Ā Ā

If your watch isn’t set to record GPS every second, your workout distance may appear too short, especially on routes with many turns. Disable power-saving mode and use an activity type like Running, which records GPS every second.

If you are already stuckĀ with a workout that shows a shorter distance, tools like gpxfix.euĀ can be used to adjust track points to correct the distance. Disclosure: I’m the developer of GpxFix.
