Hello,

I have un-installed my Strava App on my samsung watch as it was not syncing the run with my app on my phone.

When i have re-installed the app on the watch it has asked me to go to the following website to get a 4 digit code: watch.samsung.strava.com

This is not working - Website will not open!

Please can anyone help?

Thank you,

Jo

After countless bullshit responses from Strava someone was finally able to give me an answer to my question. Response from Strava below. Looks like the Tizen support was finally discontinued even though the last article Strava put out said this was done in Nov last year, so obviously some delay there.

Unfortunately, the Strava app on Tizen devices will no longer be available for any Samsung Watch not on Wear OS 3 or higher. You will need to record activities in Samsung Health in order for them to sync to Strava

You will have to wait until Strava fixes the website. As alternative you could use the Samsung health integration if you meet the requirements (using Android and recording activities with GPS), see https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049395572-Samsung-Health-and-Strava

I'm having the exact same problem. I haven't been able to sync anything so I removed the watch connection (revoke access) from my Strava account and then intended on reconnecting it with watch.samsung.strava.com , only to find the website completely dead.

I'm having the same problem... This is a recurring error with Strava/Samsung... Exactly two years ago this happened... The worst part is the battery on the watch, thank you this error is draining faster than I can run, unfortunately that's not verifiable given Strava ain't uploading my records hahhaha

I’m also having the same problems. The wear app from Galaxy Watch has not been syncing activities since 17/18th of January, I thought it was watch problems, but it looks like it may be due to this website being down and not working as a bridge between the watch and the Strava mobile app

Same issue. No sync since 15th Jan.

I have emailed them and got a generic response and they completely ignored what I said in the email. What's the point of paying a subscription when you can't get support when needed?

Same here - not syncing and the battery of my Samsung Watch is drawing much faster than usual. Please fix this.

I'm having the same issue! Uninstalled my app on both phone and watch and now cant connect my watch back to my phone! Thought it was my watch bugging out as its pretty old and almost went off to buy something considerably more expensive! Would have been seething had i spent in excess of £500 on a new watch to find out its a strava issue!

I just create a support ticket to have a solution from Strava.
Let’s hope that they will provide a quick solution ...

I raised a support ticket with Strava and got this reply...

If there are any issues occurring with how the app is recording or syncing, we are unable to troubleshoot these as the app is no longer actively supported or maintained. I apologize for the troubles.

Thanks for the feedback

That's unfortunate. It looks like planned obsolescence that force people to change their smartwatch to new models despite the original model is still working fine after years of usage.

So the main question remains : why not supported anymore ?

We are speaking about smartwatches that were still  available around 2021/2022. It's not a consumable that we should change every year or so ... But something you expect to still work 100% for more than five years !

Did you emphasize in the ticket that it’s a Strava website that doesn’t work anymore? I’m sure they are happy to shift the blame to others as soon as you mention a third party app that doesn’t work.
