Hundreds of thousands play ice hockey around the world and some percentage of them use Strava. I’m one of them. This should be added. Not having it available as a sport is, frankly, quite embarrassing. And given the attitude that I’ve seen in the official response, quite anit-customer friendly.
Please reconsider as those of us who use Strava and play ice hockey, just want the ability to choose this as our sport. Instead of “Ice Skating”. Sheesh.

Some time ago, Strava announced that they wouldn't add any new activity types in the foreseeable future. (Personally I’m not happy about it either - I’m missing some too.) Hopefully the decision makers at Strava change their minds at some point, and then these feature requests may be useful - as an indicator of what's demanded by the user base.
I use Hockey Tracker which is great. However, I really wish Strava would work with them to upload that data.
I reached out to Hockey Tracker and they said this.
HT writes all of its workouts to Apple Health which Strava could pull into their app but for some reason they refuse to pull in workout data from 3rd party apps. I'd suggest emailing them and requesting them to sync with Apple Health to pull in all workouts - I'm sure they get this email a lot but the more people request it maybe the more they would be willing to implement it!
