Activity feed issues (Desktop): missing, hiding, confusing

After riding today, I looked at my activity feed on my laptop. Seemed OK, I gave some kudos, made a few comments. Then I realized, when I reloaded: any activity I had given kudos or commented seems to have vanished from my feed (including my own activities!) I tried switching back and forth several times between “Latest Activities” and “Personalized,” which seems to make no difference. Nor does logging out, clearing caches, and reloading.

Please; can Activity Feed just show recent activities by me and those I follow (with as few silly ads as possible, but I know you need to place them), and not try to get clever. Don’t removed items from feed after I’ve looked at them. Don’t reorder or skip according to what YOU think I want to see. Just show the feed! Thank you.

Yes this has been happening to me too. It’s been going on a few weeks. When I log a new ride, it appears at the top of the feed. Then if I refresh, it vanishes. If I refresh again, other users recent activities also vanish. I end up with a top-most activity that is a few days old (or maybe today’s but not all of today’s activities). My preferences are to have the latest at the top, which is working apart from randomly filtering out some activities. Every time I refresh, I seem to get a different result.

Hi @PQuincy2014 and @Geoff

Thanks for posting about this. When you have your Feed sorted chronologically (set to Latest Activities) some activities may seem out of order depending on when the activity was uploaded or if the activity’s privacy controls were updated. Additionally, activities from athletes you’ve favorited may appear closer towards the top of your feed, regardless of which feed order option you’ve chosen.

Jane,

Thank you for a very quick response. I Have read through the links you provided, which do give some clarity. I would prefer a more straightforward chronological ordering (I’m sure it used to be like that) but I realise that’s probably not your call.

Regards

Geoff

I am wondering if my issue where the desktop version of Strava on Windows 10 doesn’t show an activity page on Dashboard when only a few days ago it was working fine. Now it is blank and I see a blank white area where normally it would be full of my friends rides and activities.

Is this a bug that affects Strava or is it an issue easily solved? I have Strava on IPhone and it is working as usual but my desktop is a problem now. There is very little options in settings to deal with little issues like this and Strava is difficult to communicate with. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
