Hi.

I would like to be able to plan ski routes without being restricted to predefined trails. It makes no sense for skiing to limit the track to fixed paths: it should be possible to freely draw your own route on the mountain.

You can use the route planner in the web browser, it has a manual mode. It’s point to point, not drawing, but doesn’t snap to tracks.

With desktop mode I can now plan my route outside marked traks, but with desktop mode the satellite winter mode isn't available (I think) .

I'm afraid it's pointless again for backcountry skiing .

There is a winter layer in the browser, I don’t know if that can be of help in your case.
