Changing gear name from lowercase to uppercase letters doesn't work

Hello Strava,
I've been trying to rename my gear for quite some time now. Specifically, I just want to change it from lowercase to uppercase letters — from ASICS gel-nimbus to ASICS Gel-Nimbus. However, when I save it, it reverts back to the name with lowercase letters. I assume this must be a bug. Or am I doing something wrong?

Hi ​@knutch, I suspect it's because someone had already added the same name with lowercase, and it got saved in the database that way. I’ve had the same issue with Brooks Hyperion Tempo, which Strava stubbornly displays as “Brooks hyperion tempo” on my gear list. I kinda gave up and live with that 😀

    Thanks for the insight — that does sound plausible. If the name already exists in the database in lowercase, that could very well be the reason. It’s a pity that Strava doesn’t offer an easy way to correct this. Hopefully, it’s something they’ll consider improving in a future update.
